The Whiting 29 was designed by Paul Whiting of Whiting Yachts. Approximately 50 Whiting 29 yachts were produced between 1979 and 1990. They were designed and manufactured in two variants - one with a fractional rig and one with a masthead rig. Specifications are as follows:
